Concentra Bank bolsters support for community projects

Concentra Bank today contributed $100,000 in grants to community projects nationwide through its annual Empowering Your Community campaign.

"The pandemic has highlighted just how critical our communities are to our personal and societal well-being," says Don Coulter, President and CEO of Concentra Bank. "We're honoured to contribute to important local projects that support Canadians and strengthen our connection to each other."

Concentra Bank selected three community projects to each receive a $10,000 grant:

  1. A new firehall for the Zenon Park Fire Department, a volunteer-run organization supported by Diamond North Credit Union in Nipawin, Saskatchewan.
  2. The Back Door Mission, supported by the Pathwise Credit Union in Oshawa, Ontario. The mission has provided more than 4,000 health care visits and non-perishable food to 650+ patrons each month during the pandemic.
  3. Foundry is a walk-in wellness centre for youth ages 12-24 that provides mental health and substance use services including primary care, counselling, peer support, employment and education resources.

In addition, 14 other projects will each receive a $5,000 grant.

Empowering Your Community is Concentra's flagship corporate social responsibility initiative. Since 2011, Concentra has awarded $1.9 million to community projects across Canada through this program.

Details of each project are available on Concentra.ca.
