During this period of uncertainty, support for communities matters more than ever. Concentra is pleased to contribute $200,000 to community initiatives through
Empowering Your Community.
This marks Concentra's 10th year partnering with credit unions to build healthy, strong communities; however, this year the need is more critical as communities across Canada are undergoing extreme challenges due to COVID-19.
"This is an unprecedented time for all communities and while some projects may be on hold right now, the funds will still be needed when the time is right," says Don Coulter, President and CEO. "We're exceptionally proud of how Canadians are pulling together during this time and pleased to contribute to initiatives that foster community from coast to coast."
Fifteen community projects will receive a $10,000 grant. Two additional projects—the Growing Minds Reading Room Project for Hamiota Elementary School supported by Fusion Credit Union, and the Atlantic Village Effect Project supported by Valley Credit Union—will receive $25,000 each.
This year due to COVID-19, Concentra is awarding each of these winning projects the opportunity to use the grant money as intended or, because some of these initiatives may be delayed or modified, to use the award to support a COVID-19-related charitable effort in their community.
