Concentra Bank ("Concentra") launches its annual
Empowering Your Community campaign today marking 10 years partnering with credit unions to build healthy, strong communities across Canada.
Concentra is awarding $200,000 to credit unions in support of community initiatives related to the environment, community, First Nations and innovation. Credit unions have a chance to win one of 17
Empowering awards: two awards each valued at $25,000 and 15 awards each valued at $10,000.
"We are pleased to celebrate 10 years of partnering with credit unions in supporting worthwhile community projects through Empowering," says Don Coulter, President and CEO. "As a purpose-based organization, we are especially proud of the difference these community projects are making."
Credit unions are encouraged to submit an application as Concentra wants to hear about exceptional projects making a difference in their communities.
Standout recipients in 2019 include
The Beausejour Family Crisis Resource Centre supported by UNI Financial Corporation and
Regional Food Distribution Association backed by Copperfin Credit Union. All 2019 applicants should be congratulated for championing outstanding projects in communities across Canada.
Empowering Your Community is Concentra's flagship corporate social responsibility initiative. Since 2011, Concentra has awarded $1.6 million to credit unions funding projects in more than 120 communities across Canada.
