Concentra Bank Announces 2018 Q4 Financial Results, Declares Dividend

Concentra Bank posted strong fourth quarter financial results, as reported to shareholders earlier today via the company's Q4 Investor Relations update.

Also reported, the Concentra Board of Directors declared a fourth quarter cash dividend of $0.139539 per common share, representing a $1.34 million total quarterly payment to common shareholders.

"Contributing to Concentra's success is our partnership with credit unions across the country, offering products like mortgages, commercial loans, securitization services, and trust and estate planning," said Don Coulter, President and CEO, Concentra Bank. "Our strengthened alliance with League Savings and Mortgage continues to be a shining example of a strategic partnership that drives value for key stakeholders in the credit union system," Coulter added.

Concentra's financial performance was highlighted in the Q4 year-to-date results with Concentra recording a net income of $7.4 million, down from $13.7 million in Q3 due to non-recurring credit loss recoveries in Q3; and generating a return on equity of 10.0%, down from 11.2% reported in Q3.

Concentra ended the quarter with total reported assets of $9.7 billion, with CET1-RWA and Leverage ratios of 11.8% and 4.6%, respectively. Concentra maintains a high quality composition of capital, with levels remaining stable through 2018, and in excess of regulatory minimum requirements.

Notable business highlights from Q4 include:

  • continued growth in mortgage volumes
  • steady results across all business lines
  • stable portfolio credit quality with minimal credit provisions in Q4
  • increased diversification of funding sources including the issuance of a $150M floating rate note

"Looking forward, we will continue to strengthen our franchise by focusing on partnerships, specialized banking and innovation to position the Bank for long-term growth and strong shareholder value," concluded Coulter.

Announced today, Concentra Bank has earned distinction as part of Canada's Best Managed Companies for 2018, preserving its status as a Platinum Club member. Canada's Best Managed Companies award continues to be the mark of excellence for Canadian-owned and managed companies.

Since 2005, Concentra has returned over $79 million in dividend payments to common shareholders.
